Wills - Main residence in England and property in Scotland
If you have an English Will it may only be valid in England, which means property in Scotland could be contested. It may be suggested that owners in a similar position, or if they have moved to Scotland, should take advice from a solicitor.

The wall bordering the driveway and number 1 appeared to have fallen down, a prompt rebuild was undertaken by Graham Partridge. This wall is joint responsibility and cost was shared.
Schedule of winter work at Laigh Isle 2024/5.
Work has started on a new large garden waste bay in amongst the trees and roses to the left of the footpath to the field gate. It will be better screened from view than the previous cages. It is hoped that the roses which need to be dug up will retake when planted along the ridge by the shore.
The old cages were taking a lot of expense in upkeep and repairs and keeping different types of waste separate wasn’t working. Everything is now being removed together so separation is no longer necessary.
The new bay will be built of breeze block, 4 blocks high and 30’ long, running towards the wall bordering Isle Farm.
***When it is in use please take all garden waste to the back of the bay to maximise its capacity. Merely dumping waste at the front means we have to pay for more uplifts***
Andrew O’Malley has been asked to recut all communal grass roadside edgings by removing turf which has grown over the concrete edges, remove moss from roadsides and pathways, redefine the two sets of stepping flags which have become overgrown, treat the large weeds in the shore grassed area and cut back the hedge along the roadside to improve the view for drivers emerging from Laigh Isle.
Grass cutting will continue until the end of November and recommence in February as weather permits.
If a course of moss treatment can be undertaken this will be done.
General tidying will be done along the Isle Farm wall bed near the entrance, including cutting down the roses and buddleia. Both will regrow in spring.
The area at the side of the company garage has become overgrown with ivy and brambles and will be cleared.

The permit, priced at £40 per bin, provides access to fortnightly garden waste collections from March to November 2025. This makes it easy to manage grass clippings, leaves, and other garden waste. By applying early for your garden waste permit, you will make sure your collections will begin from the start of the season – getting the best value for money.
By signing up by 30 November, you will receive your new 240L garden waste bin and a sticker to place on it from February, ready for collections beginning in March.
By choosing to take part in the new Garden Waste Collection Service, you are helping to make sure that garden waste is not contaminated by your general waste in a grey-lidded bin – meaning it can be processed and composted.
