Dec Andrew has been busy recutting the road edgings. Weedkiller treatment has been applied to the moss on the road surface. Work will continue in the new year to get all edgings of communal areas done. Many have been overgrown for years.
The hedge along the roadside has been thinned, brambles removed, reduced in height and cut back to improve view of the road from the junction and beside the garage has been tidied..

To the left of Mr G’s bench as you face it. A field drain from Isle Farm was putting water underneath the dyke and making the ground boggy. A trench and field drain are now taking the water away onto the shore.
Oct - Proposed chalet extension
In late September an owner said that they wished to build an extension.
We sent a letter by special delivery on the 01.10 stating that Isle of Whithorn Leisure Ltd object to any extension.
We wrote to chalet owners to ask for them to object and their thoughts of how an extension built anywhere on site would affect their enjoyment of the site.
We wrote again by special delivery on the 13.10 to warn of legal proceedings, and at that point we had twenty nine objections and one for.
Please read the replies to our email to chalet owners here

Sept
A resident has put a lot of work in to tidy the front of the garage block, the tarmac in front of each garage is the owners responibility to keep in good order.
August
The Committee have had an enquiry from someone thinking about buying a chalet and using some fencing a note has been added (below) to the Burdens page.
Note on Fences and Enclosing Gardens (see 1 and 3 on this page).
In the past a few owners have fenced/walled off part of their properties plot, presumably with consent from the Committee at the time, however no part of any chalet's plot has been enclosed for many years. Whilst some properties could be enclosed easily as their gardens may have a fence or a wall at the rear, or the chalet may be situated in a corner. Other properties are surrounded by open grounds.
Irrespective of the properties position no new enclosure of any part of a garden or plot is permitted. Portable dog pens/fencing may be used only on patio areas as this does not restrict the grass being mowed.

Our new waste bay
The waste bay is nearer to the road and allows easier access for the tractor and trailer to empty it.
Please put only compostable waste in it, no general waste, rubble, plastics, polystyrene, plant pots or compost bags and take all waste as far back as possible to maximise capacity.
Thanks to Kevan and his team.
Our old waste bay
Please do not use the old area.
Feb 05.25 Shed at no 12
No 12 has had an oversized shed put by the chalet, this was deemed permissible during the current ownership as it is required for access and storage of mobility equipment. Subsequently it will need to be altered before
the property is sold or by the new owners to be agreed with the committee at that time.
Note on wooden structures/sheds
All applications for wooden structures/sheds to be positioned beside any chalet on Laigh Isle is to be made in writing to the committee including a diagram which includes proposed dimensions and position beside chalet.

Mar 25 Company Garage Roof
A new roof has been installed on the company garage at the entrance. The original was letting rain in on the back wall leading to deterioration of the interior concrete and section securing bolts. The new roof has a fibreglass coating which seals all edgings and there is guttering and a downspout along the back. It is now in keeping with the second garage and looks a lot smarter.
